Did you know that in 2007, only 50% of salons Offered UV gel services?

Now is the time to get into the gel market and make your mark as a gel guru. The following is a quick and easy service that you can add to your salon menu to:

  • Add new clients
  • Introduce add-on services to existing clients
  • Improve client retention
  • Increase your income!

Sculpting on a form with Balance Radiant White Sculptor Gel

1. Thoroughly prep the natural nail. Remove the paper backing and the centre of the Balance Clear UV Gel From. It is important to use clear forms to thoroughly cure the gel from the underside and top of enhancement.

5. Using the flattened side of a #5 or #7 Touch Tip Brush, gather a medium amount of the Balance Builder Gel. Starting in zone 3, stretch and pull the gel over the entire length of the nail to create a thin “lock-in” base layer. Cure in a 36 watt UV lamp for 90 seconds. Without removing the tacky layer, apply a second coat of Balance Builder Gel. Cure again for 90 seconds. Remove the tacky layer using Cleanse on a nail wipe.

3. Fit the form snugly to the underside of the natural nail and pinch the tabs together. Apply a liberal amount of Balance Bond (Acid-Free)  Primer to the entire surface of the natural nail.

6. File, shape and refine the nails. Remove any excess dust with a Plush Brush. Use a Nail Wipe slightly saturated with Cleanse to remove any dust that may be hiding in the sidewalls.

3. Gather a medium to large amount of Radiant White or Soft White Sculptor Gel using #5 or #7 Touch Tip Brush. Place the Gel near the natural free edge line. Twirl the brush to release and slightly warm the gel. Create the smile line and begin to stretch the gel to form the extension. Wipe any gel residue from the brush on a clean, lint-free Nail Wipe and back brush the smile line to make it smooth and crisp.

7. Using the flattened side of the Touch Tip Brush of your choice, apply a medium amount of Balance Finish Clear Gel to the entire surface. Be sure to seal and cap all edges. Cure in a 36 watt UV lamp for 90 seconds. Remove tacky dispersion layer using Cleanse on a Nail Wipe.

4. Repeat the process on all five nails and cure in a 36 watt UV lamp for two minutes. For veteran gel users, the Balance Sculptor Gels are a super thick consistancy designed to stay where you put them, so you can sculpt all 5 nails without the need to "freeze" or "lock". For novice gel users, it is recommended to begin with the thumb and "freeze" or "lock" each smile line for 10 seconds. You can the cure all 5 nails at one time for two minutes.

8. Condition the surounding skin with Nurture Oil.
