NSI USA - How it all started

NSI is produced and manufactured in Philadelphia, USA. Since the 1950s, NSI has been a family owned business, Fred Slack and his son Rick Slack operated & manufactured high quality monomers, polymers, and other enhancement products for the professional nail industry. As early developers, inventors, and chemists, NSI pioneered and developed the first non-yellowing, cross linked formulations used in all traditional acrylic systems today. NSI products are manufactured and developed in our own lab by our own chemists. As pioneers, NSI was the first to introduce fiberglass-reinforced polymers, light activated liquid and powder acrylics, UV cured gels, and air and heat activated polish sealants. Our chemists continually meet the demand for innovative products. In terms of quality control, NSI goes the extra mile by providing batch and tracking numbers on all products. If a nail technician does experience a problem, it can be quickly identified and solved.

Fun fact!

In 1957 Dr. Slack, Fred Slack’s father, cut his thumb nail while working in his Dental laboratory. Using aluminium foil, he created a platform to fix the nail with dental acrylic. This would lead to the patent of the industry’s first nail form! Yes that’s right NSI was the first company to design and create the legendary nail form!

Fast forward to 1987 and NSI was born, releasing numerous product ranges over the years from, acrylic products, gel products and accessories it all leads to where we are now.

Fast forward again to today, 2023, with our award winning Attraction Acrylic system, our huge range of Polish Pro gel colours, our stunning Simplicite pre-mixed coloured Acrylic system, our NEW Balance Elite hard gel system and not forgetting our recently launched Tech Gel paints that have attracted a lot of well-deserved attention, there is literally no stopping us!
