NSI Nails Builder Gel In A Bottle

So what are Builder Gel nails?

Well, in a nutshell it’s a Builder Gel in a Bottle that soaks off, designed to add strength to the natural nail or to be used as a base under a gel polish to add more longevity. This treatment is perfect for those clients that have weaker nails but want to grow them, for example nail biters – this is where their Builder Gel in a Bottle journey starts and some of the results we have seen are astonishing, trust us you and your clients will never look back. The NSI Builder Gel in a bottle has been designed to self-level making it perfect for any skill set whether you’re a beginner or a pro!

How long do Builder Gel nails last?

It is recommended to keep up with nail growth and book in for an infill every 2-4 weeks (depending how quick your clients nails grow). As Builder Gel is a soft flexible product it is less likely to break or crack so your clients should be returning to their infill appointment with no repairs or replacements needed – time saving!

To preserve the health of the natural nail we recommend safe removal of Builder Gel by soaking in acetone and rehydrating the nails after removal with NSI Nurture Oil.

How do you do Builder Gel nails?

The question on everyone’s lips at the minute and were here to share all our secrets, hints and tips to make your life easier!

  1. Prep, prep & more prep! This is your main step to a long lasting, durable treatment. Push cuticles back and trim any excess leaving the nail looking fresh and tidy.
  2. Gently etch the natural nail to remove the shine with a 180gt NSI Dura file & remove dust with a Lush Brush.
  3. If extending apply nail tips at this point.
  4. Apply NSI Nail Pure Plus to a nail wipe to dehydrate the natural nails, squeak the nail plate surface clean remembering to get down the side walls.
  5. Using NSI Essential Bond, apply a layer to each natural nail.
  6. Apply a thin even coat of NSI Builder Gel in a bottle. to each nail (careful around the cuticle and side walls, making sure the product doesn’t touch the skin). Cure in an LED lamp for 60 seconds or 2 minutes for a UV lamp
  7. Apply a 2nd coat of the NSI Builder Gel in a bottle. but a little thicker this time. TOP TECH TIP – turn your clients hand upside down for 10 seconds to allow the Builder Gel to create a natural apex for you! Cure in an LED lamp for 60 seconds or 2 minutes for a UV lamp.
  8. Saturate a nail wipe with NSI Cleanse and wipe over the nails removing any tacky residue left on the nail.
  9. Refine file (no harsh filing) over the nail making sure you have a clean even finish.
  10. Remove any dust using the NSI Lush Brush and by wiping again with NSI Cleanse.
  11. If your clients want a gel polish over the top start that process now but there’s no need for a basecoat.
  12. Finish with a glossy topcoat like our NSI Flexigloss or Essential seal, cure for 60 seconds in an LED lamp or 2 minutes in a UV lamp.
  13. IT REALLY IS THAT EASY!

What is the difference between Builder Gel and other gel products?

It can get confusing and a little daunting when new products are released, so here is a guide to different gel products that will hopefully answer some of your unanswered questions.

Gel Polish

Gel Polish is a thin consistency and can be used over natural nails and all other systems including soft gels, hard gels and acrylics. Remember, although gel polish can last up to 2 weeks on naturally healthy strong nails those clients that have weaker nails will possibly need a foundation gel underneath (NSI Builder Gel in a bottle) to help give the gel polish that longevity your clients will want.

Soft Gels

The majority of Soft Gels nowadays will come in a bottle just like our NSI Builder Gel in a bottle. It’s a flexible gel that is just as strong as hard gels and acrylics but with the added benefit of soaking off. Another great benefit is that they also come with a brush! But remember, Soft Gels are only designed for short-medium length extensions if you were going to extend any longer than this you would need to do so with a hard gel or acrylic system.

Hard Gels

Similar to acrylics, hard gels are designed to create and build a longer nail extension but still need to be cured in a LED or UV lamp. To remove hard gels they would usually need filing off so extra care needs taking during the removal process.
